Living with HIV in Direct Provision

This one-day training introduces key aspects of working with people who are living with HIV in Direct Provision accommodation.

Who is the training for?

This training will be beneficial for professionals who work with people living in Direct Provision accommodation and in the process of seeking asylum in Ireland.

Training Programme Content:

  • Overview of HIV (transmission, prevention, testing and treatment).
  • Disclosure/Confidentiality.
  • Practical Issues/Barriers.
  • Relationships and Sex.
  • Emotional/Spiritual Issues.
  • Case Studies.
  • Legal Issues.
  • Stigma.
  • Desired Outcomes.

Length of Training:

This is a full-day training programme, approx. 6 to 6½ hours in duration.
