Our Community Outreach Service aims to connect with gay, bisexual and MSM where they meet to socialise and/or have sex. Our team of peer sexual health outreach workers offer information, support and resources relating to HIV, STIs and sexual health & wellbeing needs.

Many gay, bi and MSM use online platforms to seek, organise and meet their sexual partners as well as obtain information on sexual health.
Our outreach team is available to offer information, support and referrals on popular hook-up apps and dating sites such as Grindr, Scruff, Squirt, BBRT, PlanetRomeo and Rent.Men.
Gay bars, clubs and saunas have traditionally acted as important meeting places for gay, bi and MSM. For many, these are venues to socialise and seek sexual partners.
Our outreach team is growing and as we do, we intend to increase our presence at these venues in Dublin offering information, support and resources.
For some, going to a sexual health clinic can be daunting – it needn’t be. Our outreach workers are available to explain and familiarise people with the process of access, testing, treatment and vaccinations that happen at the Gay Men’s Health Service (GMHS) and other sexual health clinics that gay, bi and MSM go to.
Sexual health services can be very busy places. It is important that users of these services feel that they have the time, space and ability to open up about the sex that they’re having and how that impacts their health and wellbeing. For those reasons we are also available to offer information, support and resources to GMHS users while attending Tuesday and Wednesday clinics.
Sometimes it’s good to call on a friendly face and a listening ear when you’re facing challenges around your sexual health and wellbeing. Our outreach team is available to meet with you and talk through any questions you may have about the sex you’re having or the sex you want.
Things you might want to talk about include:
- STIs and HIV, including routes of transmission
- PEP, PrEP, U=U
- Disclosing or asking someone’s HIV status
- Using hook-up apps or sites
- Experimenting with the sex you want to have
- Chemsex, drugs and alcohol
Our team can also offer referrals to professionals in these topics if you need more structured support.
