HIV and Drug Use

If you are living with HIV and inject drugs, you can reduce the risk of becoming co-infected with Hepatitis  and other infections by engaging in safer injection practices such as not sharing needles or other injecting equipment and materials such as spoons, filters, swabs, and citric acid. By not sharing injecting materials, you also can protect yourself from being re-infected with a different strain of HIV which may require your immune system to work harder.

You can get clean injecting materials at Needle Exchanges. You will be required to bring your used syringes for staff to dispose of safely.
